El día de hoy sorpresivamente Twitter actualizó la versión beta de pruebas de su aplicación oficial para Android y contrario a lo que muchos esperaban, la gente de la red social de microblogging presentó una totalmente nueva y renovada interfaz de usuario, la cual lleva como nombre clave “Hamburguer UI” y que presenta nuevos elementos en su diseño, como así también se despide de los botones clásicos que regían la aplicación.
En concreto, la nueva versión 5.0 de Twitter beta para Android adopta la ya clásica interfaz con barra lateral izquierda para acceder rápidamente a opciones y configuraciones de la aplicación, esta barra lateral tiene un diseño muy elegante y se adorna con nuestra foto de fondo de nuestra propia cuenta de Twitter.
Por otra parte, también han sido cambiados los botones superiores para dar paso a las palabras, en esta parte nos hace gesto a la interfaz “moderna” de Windows Phone. De igual forma, se le ha regresado la jerarquía a los mensajes directos, los cuales están accesibles desde la barra superior y no ocultos en el perfil como en el anterior diseño. No obstante, aun sigue haciendo falta un diseño adecuado a las tabletas con Android, algo que si se ve en iOS con el iPad.
La aplicación a pesar de estar en fase beta funciona de maravilla y parece estar lista para ser lanzada dentro de poco. Ahora bien, si no quieres esperar ni un solo día más para poder probarla, la gente de Android Police subió la APK de Twitter 5.0 Beta, misma que pueden descargar en el siguiente enlace:

Those of you in Twitter’s official beta testing group are seeing an update to version 5.0 of the app that is worthy of a full point release jump. Justtwo weeks after creating the group to help test new features, Twitter has pushed an update that completely revamps the entire interface with a cleaner and even more minimalist design, a new slide-in menu from the left bar to manage organization and a new settings view.
The app retains the same standard blue, white and gray color palette, but spruces things up a bit with use of a thinner font and more options for tabs — home, notifications, messages, activity, trending, find people and me — at the top of the app. In terms of features, it looks as though we’re getting in-line image previews (no more tapping in to see media) for at least some services, along with the ability to customize the top tabs to your liking.
The widget has also changed as well, albeit more subtly than the app interface itself. Let’s hope that this update makes its way out of beta and to the stable channel soon, as it seems to bring a fresh design and lots of great new features that users will want.
